Fort Laurens, 11067 Fort Laurens Road NW, Bolivar, will hold its annual Let Them Eat Cake! Tea party fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. June 30.
This year’s event will feature the evolution of female fashion from 1750 to 1950. Laura Loew will share examples of what women wore throughout American history and discuss the social context of female dress during different time periods.
Loew is the owner of Medina-based Lost in the Past, which offers history programs and consultation related to antique and vintage clothing. She specializes in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
A tea and pastry tasting will take place after the program. Visitors are encouraged to wear their best historical or modern attire to compete for a best-dressed award in either category. Attendees who make early reservations will also be given a royal title to use at the event.
Guest also are invited to bring their own teacups to use for samples; teacups also will be provided.
Cost is $10 and reservations are due by June 25. The cost will cover the presentation, tasting and museum admission. For reservations: 330-874-2059.
