Terrorists attack police post in Srinagar, two jawans injured

NEW DELHI: A day after the assassination of journalist Shujaat Bukhari, two security personnel were injured when terrorists fired at a police naka party in J&K's Srinagar on Friday.

The attack took place outside Srinagar's Dental College in Shireen Bagh. Among the injured are one Special Police Officer and one havaldar, reported ANI.

The attack came a day after the assassination of prominent Kashmir-based journalist Shujaat Bukhari; and the killing of a Rashtriya Rifle jawan, Aurangzeb.

Yesterday, Bukhari and his PSO were shot dead by unidentified gunmen outside his newspaper's office in the heart of the Jammu and Kashmir summer capital. Bukhari, who was in his 50s, was leaving his office in Press Enclave in the city centre Lal Chowk for an iftar party when he was shot.

In another incident, the bullet-ridden body of Aurangzeb was discovered at Gusoo in Pulwama hours after he was kidnapped by the terrorists. The deceased Army man, Aurangzeb was a resident of Poonch district and was proceeding toward his home on leave for Eid when he was abducted in broad daylight from a vehicle.
