A Canberra man who killed another man two years ago and disposed of his body has been found guilty of manslaughter but not guilty of murder.

Milan Urlich, 30, admitted he caused Canberra man Andrew Carville's 2015 death two days into his trial, but claimed it was self defence.

He said he had put Mr Carville in a chokehold after he came at him with a knife.

Urlich also admitted to rolling Mr Carville in a carpet, putting him on his ute tray and driving out to land at Sutton.

He then returned weeks later and hid the body in a dry creek bed.

Today the ACT Supreme Court jury delivered their verdict, finding Urlich guilty of manslaughter.

Milan Urlich's 45-year-old brother Marc had been charged with attempting to help Milan conceal the crime, but was today cleared of all charges.

Marc Urlich has always rejected any involvement or knowledge of the incident.

Milan Urlich will be sentenced in August.
