ASPEN, Colo. (AP) An Aspen jury has found an artist guilty of littering outside an art museum.
The Aspen Times reports Lee Mulcahy was cited in October after a surveillance video showed he left a bicycle, a silver tube resembling a dryer vent, two piles of springs and a large plastic planter around the Aspen Art Museum.
Mulcahy has maintained that the items were part of a sculpture he donated to the museum without museum officials' knowledge.
Mulcahy ran against Aspen Mayor Steve Skadron in 2017 and has been fighting the city housing authority's attempts to evict him from his employee housing unit.
He represented himself in the Wednesday proceedings.
He says he thinks the outcome was part of political retaliation.
He was fined $185 for littering and court costs.
