Assetto Corsa has come a long way since its debut in 2014, when it was available only for PC users running Microsoft Windows. Since then, it’s made its way onto the PS4 as well as the Xbox One.

The idea with this game was to always focus on a realistic driving experience, and the general feedback was mostly positive. While it may not have been the best-looking racing sim out there, many would argue that it was the most authentic.

Now, a new iteration is on its way. It is called the Assetto Corsa Competizione, and unlike its predecessor, will rely on a new gaming engine that supports night races and realistic weather conditions.

Judging by this pre-alpha gameplay footage released during E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2018, Assetto Corsa Competizione will yet again appease gamers searching for a pure racing experience. From the way the camera moves to the hand movements on the steering wheel, the footage seems extremely realistic.

Assetto Corsa Competizione will initially launch on Microsoft Windows, while a PS4 and XBox One release will most likely follow at a later date.
