Kellogg Recalls Honey Smacks Cereal on Salmonella Concerns

Health officials say 73 people have been infected from 31 states and 24 have been hospitalized

Kellogg Co. has launched a recall of Honey Smacks cereal after federal health regulators linked the product to salmonella-related illnesses reported in several states.

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contacted Kellogg after receiving reports of illnesses in several states, the CDC said Thursday. According to the CDC, 73 people have been infected from 31 states and 24 have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.
