Cape Town - Former goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo is confident Brilliant Khuzwayo will slot seamlessly in at Orlando Pirates and make a positive impact. 

Bafana Bafana-capped shot-stopper Khuzwayo parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs last month after six seasons at the club and was announced earlier this week as having signed for Pirates. 

Mayoyo believes that Khuzwayo's experience at Chiefs will make the move to fellow Soweto giants Pirates a relatively easy one. 

"Pirates made a good acquisition with Khuzwayo," Mayoyo told The Citizen. 

"In terms of culture, Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are not that different, Khuzwayo understands the culture of being expected to win and playing consistently." 

Khuzwayo, 28, will currently have to compete with Wayne Sandilands, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Jackson Mabokgwane for a starting place, and Mayoyo feels that the former AmaZulu shot-stopper may have to wait for his chance before donning the Bucs jersey. 

"The coach (Milutin Sredojevic) needs to make the competition fair. They should wait until the guys that there are not doing well for him to start, or if he does well then they should give him a chance," he said. 

"You need to remember that he left Chiefs without having played a lot of games or establishing himself as a number one goal keeper so he still has work to do," Mayoyo continued. 

"He is a quality goalkeeper but he just needs to win a place in the Pirates squad." 

Pirates' other eight new signings are Vincent Pule, Meschack Maphangule, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Ben Motshwari, Asavela Mbekile, Linda Mntambo, Paseka Mako and Abel Mabaso.
