Tesla vehicles have always been about subtle speed. While many vehicles offering similar performance to Teslas come adorned with in-your-face bodywork and crazy wings, the automaker’s vehicles are understated and refined.
Although the second-generation Tesla Roadster has yet to be become a production reality, it too follows this philosophy and lacks some of the aggression found throughout hypercar rivals. This could change with the promised SpaceX performance option for the car.
Recently announced by Musk, the vehicle will come with roughly 10 mini-rockets placed across the exterior to improve performance. With this in mind, AllCarNews Design has rendered the range-topping Roadster with rockets and some new aero parts.
Up front, a pronounced splitter immediately catches the eye. Additionally, two small rockets are visible in the air intakes directly under the headlights. Take a look at the sides of the hypercar and you’ll find a rocket on the side skirts and another rocket just in front of the rear wheel arch. Completing the exterior modifications is a towering rear wing that’ll help glue the car to the road at high speeds.
Tesla will almost certainly look to increase downforce levels of the SpaceX variant through the use of new parts. At this early stage however, it remains to be seen if the modifications will be this extreme.
