General Officer Commanding-in-Chief southern command visits Secunderabad Army Cantonment

HYDERABAD: In the midst of ongoing debate over opening of roads in cantonment areas, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Lieutenant General D R Soni, Southern Command, visited Secunderabad Army Cantonment on Tuesday.
He was briefed by Major General N Srinivas Rao, GOC, Telangana Andhra Sub Area(TASA) on security situation and operational preparedness, infrastructure development, sustainable environment projects, educational institutions, feedback on road opening in the cantonment, Information Technology initiatives in Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and office automation, said an official communication.
The GOC-in-C, earlier in the day, laid a wreath at Bison War Memorial and paid homage to the Martyrs who sacrificed their life fighting for the nation. He also visited Golden Palm Sainik Bhawan near Secunderabad railway station, which is a unique equivalent value land project.
