Less people are using Facebook to find and talk about news.??????According to a new Reuters Institute and University of Oxford Digital News Report, younger people are using WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat for news.????The data for their report came from a YouGov survey.????The BBC reports this is partly because of changes to Facebook’s algorithms as well as a desire to discuss world events in privacy.????According to Axios, although Facebook news was on the rise, it’s problems with fake news have played a factor in the decline, in addition to privacy concerns.??????Globally the use of Facebook for news has dipped from 42% to 36%.????However Axios reports that a lot of people surveyed use Facebook or Twitter to find news articles but then share them via private messages.??
