Central Govt. grants 15 days to Yogi Govt. over Patanjali Food park controversy

Facing heat over Patanjali Food park controversy Yogi Government has sought time from the central government to grant  15 days time to finalise the deal as per the demand of Baba Ram dev and deputy Bal Krishna.

A senior official said that Government has written a letter to Union Food Processing Ministry asking for time till June 30 for grant of sub-lease. Initially the time granted by the government was till June 15, which was expiring on Thursday.

“We are in touch with the officials and hope to get a positive response,” the official said saying that the same has been communicated to Patanjali Ayurvedic Limited.

Earlier on June 5  Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev promoted Patanjali group had decided to say quit and shift its Rs 6000 crore mega food park project out of Uttar Pradesh. Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director  of Patanjali Ayurved Limited had declared through a series of tweets Patanjali will shift its planned food park from Uttar Pradesh due to state government's disappointed attitude.

To salvage the situation Chief Minister spoke to Baba Ramdev on Tuesday night and assured all help. He even said that all problems will be sorted out.

The MoU between Patanjali and State government was inked during Akhilesh yadav regime when the then government 455 acre of land in Greater Noida which included – 430 acre for industrial use and 25 acres for Institutional use. 

The Patanjali group had asked that 95 acre of this land be earmarked for Hearbal project. As the initial project was cleared through Cabinet, a cabinet approval was needed. It was assumed that in last cabinet (which was held on Tuesday) Patanjali issue will be resolved. But cabinet did not take up this matter.

“We will clear it in next cabinet,” official said.
