ALBANY - Weekend roadwork on Washington Avenue will close lanes and prompt parking restrictions on the busy downtown street.

Between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, milling and paving will take place on Washington Avenue between Lark Street and Dove Street. A single lane of traffic will be opened in the work zone.

But cross traffic might be delayed during the work and detours could be put in place at times when contractors are working in the intersections, the city said.

During the work, parking will be prohibited on:

1. Washington Avenue, both north and south sides from 4 Central Ave. east to 136 Washington Ave.

2. Dove Street, both east and west sides from Elk Street to Spring Street

CDTA buses stops may be shifted in this area.
