Police are looking for witnesses after a flagger was injured in a hit-and-run Monday morning in West Kelowna, B.C.
In a release, Kelowna RCMP said the worker was struck in a construction zone at the 1100-block of Westside Road around 10:30 a.m. PT.
Police say the suspect driver was stopped by the flagger but insisted on being let through. He exchanged words with the worker and allegedly threatened her.
He then drove through the construction zone, hitting the flagger's sign and injuring her wrist, police said.
'Remained confrontational'
He stopped and got out of his truck after being waved down by other construction workers and was told to stay and wait for police.
He did, for a moment, police say, but "remained confrontational" and finally sped off.
"RCMP are following up with the company which owns the suspect vehicle in an effort to positively identify the driver and further their still ongoing investigation," Cpl. Tania Carroll said in a statement.
Police described the vehicle as a white commercial pick-up truck and are looking for witnesses to help identify the driver.
In particular, they are looking for a man who told the flagger he captured dashcam footage of the incident.
