MALTA – Jamie Craven, superintendent of DeKalb School District 428, has been named the new president of the Kishwaukee College Foundation for a two-year term, according to a news release from the college.

The goal of the foundation is to shape the future and enhance the development of students, programs, faculty and facilities at Kishwaukee College through donations.

“Everything I’ve been part of has been student- or community-focused,” Craven said in the release. “I see the foundation as a way to help those in the Kish footprint.”

In his new role, Craven said he hopes to bridge the gap for students who may not be able to get to college without financial assistance.

“I always say, ‘Our job is to prepare students for their tomorrow; every student’s tomorrow looks different,’” Craven said. “We have to have educational programming that can meet those different tomorrows.”
