VADODARA: The Vadodara Parents’ Association has threatened of agitation if the district education officer (DEO) will not act against schools that have handed over leaving certificates (LC) to students, allegedly over the activism of their parents over the fee regulation issue.

It was on Wednesday that the Gujarat State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) had directed the social welfare department to act against the nine such erring schools in the state.

The parents’ association had gone to collector office on Thursday to submit a memorandum seeking action against schools according to the directive of GSCPCR. The DEO MN Patel too reached there and heard the complaints of the parents. After hearing representations from the parents, the DEO assured them that he will take action within two days against the school who have handed over LCs to students.

Patel also promised the parents that if he will also make sure that those parents whose wards were handed over the LCs get admission in the schools of their choice. Parents said that if the DEO will not act, they will start their agitation.
