One jump too far for kangaroo trapped behind wall as tide rises

A relieved kangaroo has been rescued off Sandgate's seawall after becoming trapped by the rising tide.

Photos shared by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services show the perplexed kangaroo neck-high in seawater, bobbing along beside the seawall on Thursday morning.

Needing help to escape, the damp kangaroo was quickly pulled over the wall by emergency services.

"Luckily, Skippy still has a few friends ever true, and our Sandgate crew were able to work with [Queensland Police] to successfully help this little guy free," QFES reported.
