NOIDA:
Sector 51 RWA complained to police (SHO sector 49) over disruption of
sanitation work arranged by sector RWA in collaboration with
Noida authority under police protection for Wednesday.
Facing contractual workers’ strike over sanitation issues since over 15 days, sector 51 RWA had requested police protection while they arranged sweepers from the authority for the sector on Wednesday as they feared trouble from striking contractual labourers. As expected, sweeping in the sector was disrupted early Wednesday morning by striking labourers, who did not let the work to complete as 25-30 of them stopped work in A, B and D block of the sector as well as in sector 49. While minor injuries were reported from the scuffle that ensued, a complaint has been made by sector RWA to the police on the matter.
“About 25-30 striking workers came to the sector and tried to snatch the brooms from the sweepers arranged by us from Noida authority. First they tried to stall work in A and B block, later they tried to do the same in D block as well as in sector 49. Some of our labourers faced minor injuries in the scuffle that ensued. We have given a written complaint to sector 49 police station with a copy of the complaint marked to SSP Ajay Pal Sharma, district magistrate B N Singh, SP city
Arun Kumar Singh, chowki in charge sector 51 Ravi Bhusan Verma, authority CEO Alok Tandon and ACEO R K Mishra,” said
Sanjeev Kumar RWA general secretary sector 51.
