Bikers snatch gold chain worth Rs 30,000

VADODARA: A resident of VIP Road has registered a complaint of loot against an unidentified person at Harni police station on Wednesday. Rita Gehlot told the police that she was looted by the accused when she was passing from a petrol pump on Wednesday night with her brother.

The accused came on a motorbike and snatched her gold chain worth Rs 30,000. He fled from the spot later. This is the second incident of loot in the city within a week. On June 8 a vegetable-seller was assaulted and robbed by three motorcyclists near Lakdipul at Dandiya Bazaar. The police said that complainant Ramdev Gupta was travelling towards Khanderao Market in the early hours of June 8 with Rs 47,250 cash when the incident occurred. The three accused intercepted Gupta’s bike with their two-wheeler.

One of the accused then slapped Gupta. The second accused took out a knife and the third took the cash from his pocket before fleeing from the spot. Gupta registered a complaint at Raopura police station on Tuesday.
