Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could be heading to Barcelona in a stunning swap deal involving Jasper Cillessen, it’s claimed in Spain.

Don Balon say Nou Camp transfer chiefs are willing to offer £88m (€100m) AND Barca goalkeeper Cillessen.

They say Salah is seen as an alternative to Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who looks set to snub a move to Barca this summer.

Salah is said to be open to heading to the Nou Camp in the coming weeks, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also a big admirer of Cillessen.

Lopetegui revelation

Julian Lopetegui was sensationally sacked just a day before the start of the World Cup after being confirmed as Real Madrid boss.

President of the Spanish FA, Luis Rubiales hit out at Lopetegui and Real Madrid for striking a deal without his knowledge.

La Liga expert Guillem Balague has now attempted to explain Rubiales’ thinking, and suggests his decision is about making a stand against La Liga’s top clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona, that no club is bigger than the FA.

“Key - the personality of Rubiales and his promises during campaign that made him president of the federation a month ago,” Balague tweeted.

“He promised a clean Federation, he is strong, determined and feels that things don’t get done “getting a call or two only five minutes” before RM announcement

“With time this decision will makes us strong,” Rubiales said.

“I know what he is saying. He wants a strong Federation where Real Madrid, Barcelona or whoever does not treat them like a little weak brother.”
