Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is searching for a man who robbed the San Carlos Marketplace at gunpoint Thursday afternoon before 1 p.m.

The man, who is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, is said to have walked around the store, which is located at 18011 South Tamiami Trail, until all other customers, aside from one, left.

He then pointed his gun at the clerk and demanded cash. After receiving the cash, the suspect fled the scene in a white four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, authorities said.

The suspect was seen wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt, black pants and black shoes with white trim on the bottom and is said to have a thin build, weighing about 160 to 180 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip to the P3Tips mobile app.
