Woman Armed Reserve cop attempts to kill self

CUDDALORE: A 27-year-old Armed Reserve woman constable attempted suicide by consuming pesticide alleging that she was facing harassment at work.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the police quarters, where she was living with her husband, who is an AR constable. She was found unconscious and was rushed to the hospital by onlookers. In a note, the mother of two girls, said that she suffered a miscarriage recently.

She further said that one Sivashankar, an inspector, allegedly used to threaten and abuse her. He also made her report for duties at different places late at nights. When asked,  Sivashankar denied the allegations.
