BHILAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that development is the only solution to “counter conspiracies and violence”. He flagged off the first flight from Jagdalpur to Raipur, putting Maoist-hit Bastar on the country’s aviation map.

He also dedicated a state-of-the-art integrated command and control centre at Naya Raipur — the state’s new capital — that will bring supervision of all civic facilities under one roof.

“Earlier, Bastar was known for guns, bombs and violence. Today, it is on the aviation map. The 6-7 hours of road travel to the state capital has been reduced to just 40 minutes,” the PM said.

Many misguided youth have returned to the mainstream of society because of development initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led NDA government, Modi said in steel city Bhilai after launching Rs 22,000 crore worth of development initiatives, from industries and education to aviation and communication.
