Suzanne Windisch

Suzanne M. Windisch, 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Mercy Hospice.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a vigil service will be held at
3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed
to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society or Iowa City Hospice.
Suzanne was born on Oct. 8, 1947, in Iowa City, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Grothe) Wissink. She attended school in Hills and was a 1965 graduate of Regina High School. On April 29, 1972, Suzanne married David Windisch.
Suzanne was a logistics planner at Proctor and Gamble from 1966 to 1996.
Her memberships include the Iowa City Women's Bowling Association, where she served as the city secretary for many years, and the Women's International Bowling Congress board of directors from 1995 to 2005. Suzanne was a Boy Scout volunteer for many years, earning the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award, and she was involved with various local, district and council responsibilities. Suzanne also was a Pampered Chef consultant.
Suzanne was an avid cook and candy maker, especially during the holidays. Dave and Suzanne loved to travel, taking trips throughout the United States and Europe.
Survivors include her husband, Dave of Solon; their two children, Kay Windisch of Seattle and Steve (Brooke) Windisch of Davenport; three siblings, Gene (Mary Kay) Wissink and Jere (Ruth) Wissink, both of Iowa City, and Steve Wissink of Mahomet, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Lucille.
