ALBANY — Members of local law enforcement driving vehicles and motorcycles led runners taking part in the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run down Central Ave. on Thursday.

The runners left Veterans Park in Schenectady in the morning and ended the torch run at Albany City Hall for a noon event.

Joining them was a 15-year-old foreign exchange student from Paris. Pierre de Dieleveult is staying with an Albany officer this summer and wanted to show his support of the cause, police said. He arrived Monday.

This year's Special Olympics Summer Games are hosted by Siena College.
