Bengaluru: Yemeni youth killed in mishap, friend injured

A 21-year-old student from Yemen died on spot while his friend got injured after their speeding bike crashed into a parapet wall.

BENGALURU: A 21-year-old student from Yemen died on spot while his friend got injured after their speeding bike crashed into a parapet wall. The incident took place at a flyover on Hennur road near Banasawadi on Monday evening. Reckless driving is believed to have caused the mishap and moreover, both were not wearing helmet.

The deceased is Abdual Atif Ali. The injured is Majid. They were diploma students studying Pharmacy at a private college and residing in Marathahalli along with friends.

A senior police officer said that the incident occurred around 6.30pm and the duo were returning home after dinner at Hegdenagar on the occasion of Iftar. Ali who was speedily riding the bike lost control, crashed into the parapet wall and tossed in the air. As they were not wearing helmet, suffered head injuries and were rushed to NIMHANS where Ali was declared brought-dead.
