MUMBAI: A bike-borne AC repairman had a narrow escape when he landed beneath the wheels of a truck and got dragged up to 100 feet at Kandivli (E) recently. Samir Siddiqui said onlookers were busy clicking photos and recording videos. An injured Siddiqui took his pillion rider to a hospital. The trucker driver has been booked.

The Mira Road resident was going to a relative’s place with his friend, Usman Khan, on June 9. “I was riding between a car and a truck on WEH. The car suddenly turned right. I slowed down to avoid colliding into it. But the truck rammed into my motorcycle. Usman was thrown off. I landed beneath the left tyre of the truck with my motorcycle,” said Siddiqui.

Siddiqui held on to a rod under the truck. “My back and feet were badly bruised,” Siddiqui said. He collapsed after he took Khan to a hospital in an auto.

“My family was not in town. I decided to rest at home and did not get hospitalised,” he said.
