Published 4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018
The public is encouraged to offer their feedback about community centers in town to the New Milford Community Center Committee that will be included in a report to Town Council.
Residents can share their comments in person at the committee meeting at 7 p.m. on June 21 at the John Pettibone Community Center. Suggestions and questions can also be emailed to communitycentercommittee@newmilford.org.
A brief survey will be distributed soon and information is posted on the committee’s Facebook page. The survey will also be available around town and online.
The community center committee has been researching the history of community centers in town, as well as the feasibility, precedent and outreach to determine if the current programs and spaces are meeting the community's needs.
Community services are available in several buildings, including the John Pettibone Community Center, Town Hall, Probate Court, the Richmond Senior Center, the Maxx, the art gallery on Railroad Street and the East Street school building.
The report will be given to Town Council in July.
