Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said he was flying to India and China to hold a discussion on development models.
Addressing a one-day workshop organised by Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Dahal informed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chinese Communist Party had invited him to hold deliberation on models of development.
Dahal said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited him to visit India during Modi’s last visit to Nepal.
“Since the Chinese Communist Party has also invited me, I am preparing to visit both neighbouring countries to deliberate development models,” Dahal added.
Stating that the struggle now onwards would be for development and prosperity, the Nepal Communist Party co-chair argued that there was no opposition to development.
“We may have ruling and opposition parties in democratic practice, but there is no opposition on issues of development,” Dahal stated.
Dahal said the budget presented by the government for the new fiscal was very responsible towards the country.
“This is not a populist budget meant for influencing elections. It is a budget meant for the people, and country,” Dahal clarified. He noted that the government budget marked a departure from past practices as the budget then used to be populist to influence the electorate.
