Yoga ambassadors’ tour from tomorrow

The state has braced itself for hosting the first ever 10-day yoga ambassadors’ tour on Thursday.

TIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The state has braced itself for hosting the first ever 10-day yoga ambassadors’ tour on Thursday. The event that is organised jointly by Ministry of AYUSH, Kerala Tourism and Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI) is expected to be attended by around 60-plus yoga professionals from across the world.

According to the organisers, the tour that will commence from Thiruvananthapuram will conclude on June 21 on the International Yoga Day in Kochi. The event to be inaugurated by AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik at the Leela Raviz will also have the presence of Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Shashi Tharoor MP, M Vincent MLA and others.

As per the itinerary, the international yoga enthusiasts will be provided with an opportunity to visit state’s tourism hot spots like Kovalam, backwater cruise ride at Ashtamudi Lake in Kollam, Aranmula, Munnar, Muniyara Dolmens in Chinnakanal, Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue and others. The total outlay of the programme has been estimated at Rs 72.25 lakh.
