Rajkot: A 45-year-old Dalit man was killed after he was run over by a garbage van that was driving in reverse, at Raiyadhar Garbage Centre in Raiyadhar area of Rajkot on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the family members of the deceased, identified as Ranjeet Saghathia, have refused to accept his body.
“The family members of Saghathia have demanded compensation, a house for them and a job for one of the family members,” said RMC ex-corporator Karsan Vaghela, who has come out in support of the Saghathia family.
