Awardee boxer Jai Bhagwan, presently posted with police, has been booked along with his brother and others for allegedly assaulting a woman at the Deputy and Taxation office here.

The Commonwealth medal winning pugilist, his brother and 10 to 15 unknown people have been booked under various provisions of the law, including for rioting, assault, obstructing public servant in discharge of public duty and wrongfully confining a person.

The case was registered at Station yesterday on the complaint of the woman

On May 19, some residents of Amardeep Colony in Hisar, held a protest against the opening of a liquor shop in the area and later forcibly closed the shop. The arrived at the spot and resolved the issue.
