Says he was falsely implicated in the case

Actor Dileep, one of the accused in a case relating to the sexual assault on a woman actor, on Wednesday approached the Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe into the case.

Dileep in his petition contended that he was falsely implicated in the case. He claimed that he was not involved in the case. It was because of the dishonest, mala fide and meaningless investigation by the police that he was implicated in the case.

Unfair

He pointed out that the Supreme Court had observed that a trial based on the partisan, motivated or one-sided investigation would be unfair.

If the investigation had not been conducted fairly and was vitiated, such an investigation did not give rise to a valid charge sheet.

According to Dileep, the investigation in the case was an antithesis to the principles laid down by the Supreme Court.

The Special Investigation Team controlled by the upper echelons of policehad conducted a biased probe, he alleged.

The actor also pointed out that there was no material even to remotely connect him with any of the other accused or the incident alleged in the case. Depsite that, the petitioner was roped in with a sinister motive.

According to him, a CBI probe was essential to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into all aspects, especially with regard to the real nature of incident and conspiracy which had led to the registration of the case.
