Helen May Householder, 95, a resident of South Beaver Twp., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1922, in Hammond, Ind., to the late Louis and Genevieve Koch. As a young woman, Helen worked in retail in numerous stores in Beaver County and later in restaurants as a waitress. Helen was a devoted wife and mother and an excellent cook. She was a lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Darlington, where she served as an ordained elder and a trustee. Helen was an active member of the Little Beaver Lioness Club for many years. She was also a member of the Chippewa Women's Club and the 55-Plus Club. She was an avid bowler and participated in several bowling leagues. Helen loved playing cards and participated in numerous card clubs. She had a love for plants and flowers. She enjoyed a great deal of time camping, fishing and traveling with her late husband of 65 years, Leroy "Lee" A. Householder, whom she married on December 24, 1946. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Blaine Franklin Wright; her father, Louis A. Koch; her mother, Genevieve Koch; her sister, Peggy Koch; her brother, Walter Koch; a son-in-law, Allen J. Shelberg, and her second husband of 65 years, Leroy "Lee" A. Householder. Helen will be missed by a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Corliss Wright, Waxachie, Texas; a daughter, Peggy L. Shelberg, Chippewa Twp.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Susan Householder, Darlington Twp., and a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Michael Seiber, Darlington Twp. She was the proud grandmother of Blaine Wright, Jennifer Brown, Kristi Funkhouser, Amy Leslie, Elizabeth Stubler and Michael Seiber, and numerous great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., gabauerfamily funeralhomes.com. Rev. C. F. Hoffman, of the First United Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be private at Seceder Cemetery.
