A 99-year-old woman was killed Tuesday after the car she was traveling in struck another car at an intersection on Belle Terre Parkway in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Rae Cabot, of Palm Coast, died at Halifax Health Medical Center, the FHP said.
According to the report, Cabot was a passenger in a 2010 Hyundai Accent, driven by Liliy Buts, 51, of Palm Coast. The car was traveling north on Belle Terre Parkway about 9:35 a.m. when a 2016 Ford Fiesta on Pine Grove Drive entered the intersection of the northbound lanes to make a left southbound.
The Hyundai Accent slammed into the left side of the Ford Fiesta, causing both cars to careen into a grassy area west of the roadway, the FHP said.
Buts was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, Danielle Harris, 20, of Palm Coast, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the FHP, Harris violated the right of way when she entered the the northbound lanes of Belle Terre Parkway.
