Modi too will run away like Nirav, Mallya, LaMo: RaGa

Indirectly likening Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fugitives like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said here on Tuesday that the fear of losing the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at the hands of his party and other Opposition parties could seen in the face and could be perceived in the voice of Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

Addressing his party’s booth-level workers at Goregaon in north Mumbai, Gandhi charged that Modi “disrespected” his mentor and LK Advani, while his party had given the veteran BJP leader more respect than the Prime Minister did. Similarly, he respected former Prime Minister AB Vajpayee because he worked for the country and he was among the first to visit the ailing BJP leader at the AIIMS in New Delhi.

Alluding to the scams involving Nirav Modi, Mallya and Lalit Modi and without taking Prime Minister Modi’s name, Gandhi said: “Nirav Modi can run way from the country with Rs 35,000 crore. Mallya can run away with Rs 9,000 crore and even Lalit Modi can run away from the country... (After a pause reacting to a response from the crowd about Modi).. Woh bhi bhag jayega”.

Predicting resounding victories for the Congress in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh in the Assembly elections later this year and the BJP’s debacle in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Gandhi said: “Main Aap Ko bata raha hun, Gujarat me bach ke nikhle hain.

Karnataka me hare hain. Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh aur Rajasthan me dikhahi nahi denge.. Aur phir 2019 me Mumbai, Maharashtra aur pure desh me, Congress  party aur vipaksh BJP ko chunao harake dikhayegi ( I am telling you. The BJP survived a debacle in Gujarat. They lost in Karnataka. They will be nowhere to be seen in Madhya Pradesh,  Chattisgarh and Rajasthan. And in 2019, the Congress and Opposition parties will defeat them in Mumbai, Maharashtra and the entire country”.

Maintaining that both Modi knew full well that defeat was staring them in his face, Gandhi said: “Aap Meri bat Mat mano. Aap Dyanse Pradhan Mantri ka chahra dekho, Unke bashan sono. Awaaz me ghabrahat hain.  (he asks the audiences) Mere awaaz me ghabrahat nahi hain na? (crowds says no). Kyunki me me sachha Sipahi hun.. Magar Pradhan Mantri ne pura

desh hi batne ka kaam kya hain. Nafarat felane ka kaam kiya hain. Yuvawon ko, Garibo ko aur Kisano ko Dhoka diya hain. Woh Jante hain Hindustan ki janata Satya ko samajthi hain Aur Hindustan Ki janata bhoolti nahi hain”.

Charging that Shah was running scared of losing the 2019, Gandhi said: “Here is a friend of Modi and father of Jay Shah and the person whose son can convert Rs 50000 into Rs 80 crore in a span of three months.  There is more fear in the voice of this person than is in Modi’s voice. He is moving here and there in fear”.

Recalling that Modi had promised the people of the country that he would be the country’s “chowkidar”,  Gandhi said that the people mistook his promise.  “You people misunderstood his promise. What he meant was  that he wanted to become a chowkidar of 15 to 20 rich people in the country.  Yes he did become chowkidar, but he is serving the interests of these 15 to 20 rich people. ... He has waived the loans to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh crore of these people.  Farmers are watching all this... People are asking questions”.

Gandhi charged that the country suffered a great deal because of the misdeeds of Modi and Shah during the last four years.  “Who suffered most during the last four years? India suffered. Youth suffered and farmers suffered.. Everyone suffered”.
