WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN CLOCK STORY: Football fever is sweeping Moscow as the Russian capital becomes the stage of endless festivity ahead of the World Cup.

With only one day to kick-off, more and more fans are arriving and the number of flags and national team jerseys surrounding the World Cup Countdown Clock are growing in number and variety.

Soccer chants on on the Manezh Square could be heard in both Arabic and Spanish, as the 2018 World Cup heavily features Latin American and Middle Eastern national teams.

Most of the fans arrive in Moscow first before heading to different host cities to follow their national teams, so the fan festivities are reaching fever pitch.

Apart from being the central transportation hub in European Russia, Moscow will also host the most games in the tournament with two different venues set to host matches.
