Himachal Pradesh to turn into an eco-tourism hub

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while inaugurating two days international conference on Eco-Tourism Potential in Himachal Pradesh organised at the Manali in Kullu district stated that out of these sites, 5 will be based on the PPP mode, 16 to the State Forest Department and 47 to HP the State Forest Corporation to start eco-tourism activities at these sites.

 

Additionally 25 new destinations is expected to be developed with the construction of log huts for tourist to stay in the lap of nature.

 

 

During the financial year three eco-tourism hubs would be developed, ten places will be allotted for adventure tourism along with close coordination of Eco Tourism Society, tourism Department and Mountaineering Institute, Manali.

 

The minister further stated that 31eco-tourism circuits has been prepared and would be sent for approval. Nature parks and herbal gardens are also being developed, eco-tourism activities will be a major source of employment.

 

 

50 Forest Rest Houses were used to start eco-tourism activities in the state and there will be efforts to link eco-tourism with rural life, culture and traditions.

 

The unexplored and virgin tourist destinations state will get a boost and there will also be a increase in the economic activities in the rural areas of Himachal.

 

 

‘Nayae Rahaien, Nayae Manzilain’ is a new scheme envisioned for the state to explore new tourist destinations in the state.

 

 

The chief minister said that there will be efforts to associate private players for investment in the eco-toursim projects.
