Fire Breaks Out at Beaumonde Towers in Mumbai's Worli, Deepika Padukone Among Residents

A massive fire broke out at the 33rd floor of Beaumonde Towers in Mumbai's Worli on Wednesday. Firefighting operations are underway.

Mumbai: A fire has broken out at Beaumonde Towers in Mumbai’s Worli area. Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone also lives in the building.

The blaze started from a duplex apartment on the 33rd floor, B-wing, of the building at Appasaheb Marathe Marg. No casualties have been reported so far.

Deepika was not inside the 34-storey building, according to fire department officials and sources close to the actress. Deepika has residence in one floor of the building and office in another but both were unaffected by the fire, said the sources close to her.

News agency ANI reported that more than 90 people have been rescued. The blaze has been graded Level 2 by the fire department. Ten fire engines, two quick response vehicles, five jumbo tankers and an ambulance at the spot. Firefighting operations are underway.

The Mumbai police tweeted, "Our staff & Fire Brigade is on the spot for assistance. They are trying their best to douse the fire and provide necessary help to people there."

On June 2, a fire was reported from the Income Tax office in South Mumbai on Friday, but there were no casualties.
