Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said, the promotion of reservation for SC/ST would remain in force as per the law until the final judgment from the Supreme Court. Speaking to media in New Delhi, the minister clarified that there should be no confusion in the wording of the order as it applies for both central and state governments. Mr Paswan also met cabinet ministers, Home minister Rajnath Singh, Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Social Justice and Empowerment minster Thawar Chand Gehlot, and Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh on the issue.He said, the government is ready with an ordinance in this regard and it will be passed whenever required without any delay.

Welcoming the Supreme Court's verdict on reservation in promotion of government employees who belong to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, Mr Paswan said, it will open the doors for the members of the communities.
