One lakh Maruti Suzuki Swift models sold in 145 days since launch

Maruti Suzuki has achieved a new sales record with its latest hatchback, the Swift since its launch 145 days of its launch. The Indo-Japanese car manufacturer states this is a new sales record of the Swift as the fastest model to achieve this in the Indian market.
Talking in whole specifics, the Swift hatchback has now sold over 1.89 million models in India since the launch of the first-generation model in 2005. The Swift incidentally, also holds the record of being the 20th millionth vehicle to be produced by the Japanese brand in the country and also the first export model to roll out of Suzuki's facility in Gujarat. Also, speaking of records, Maruti Suzuki has been creating a number of records of late, with the most recent being selling over 3 lakh AMT models in India.
The new-gen Swift in India now shares its platform with the latest Heartect platform which is also found in Suzuki's range of vehicles like the Baleno, Dzire, and the Ignis. The Heartect platform is also slated to make ground in the upcoming Ertiga MUV from Maruti Suzuki.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol which churns out 83bhp of power and a 1.3-litre diesel which churns out 75bhp of power, both mated to a five-speed transmission. Maruti Suzuki also equipped the versions with AMT as well.
Top spec model of the Swift gets all the standard bells and whistles like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and satellite navigation, along with climate control, dual airbags, and ABS.
