DANBURY — Dana Perez will become a new assistant principal at Rogers Park Middle School starting July 1.
Perez started her career as a school counselor at Rogers Park almost a decade ago before becoming the school counselor at Westside Middle School Academy when it opened in 2014.
She is fluent in Spanish and volunteers around Danbury, Superintendent Sal Pascarella said.
“As we have seen, our students grow and thrive as learners when we provide support to them in this essential component of their development from adolescents to adults,” Pascarella said. “Dana’s work with these students has made a difference in our middle school students, so I am particularly excited to see her bring these skills to her new role as an administrator.”
Perez earned a bachelor’s from Manhattanville College, a master’s degree in school counseling from Mercy College and a sixth-year degree in education administration from Sacred Heart University.
