A 63-year-old man, who was charged with murdering his son-in-law three days ago, surrendered before the judicial magistrate court –II here on Tuesday. According to the Saravanampatti police,
Thiyagarajan stabbed his son-in-law M Gunavel,
31,
of Ganapathy, as the latter repeatedly physically harassed his wife. Gunavel, who was working as a manager in a private firm at Bengaluru, used to visit his house once in three months, the police said. “He allegedly suspected his wife of infidelity and often thrashed her. So his wife left him and was living with her parents at Gandhi Maa Nagar. On June 10, Gunavel went to his father-in-law’s house and severely beat her,” said a police officer. “When Thiyagarajan came to know about this, he went his son-in-law’s house at Saravanampatti and stabbed him to death,” the officer added.
