Larry Kudlow, the chief economic adviser to President Donald Trump, suffered a heart attack Monday, according to the president. Trump tweeted Monday night: "Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack. He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center." The White House later said Kudlow was in "good" condition and doctors expect him to make a full recovery. Kudlow, 70, is the director of the National Economic Council and was part of the U.S. negotiating team over the weekend at the G-7 meeting in Quebec. During a fiery interview on CNN on Sunday, Kudlow said Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "kind of stabbed us in the back" after Trudeau reiterated that U.S. tariffs against Canada were "insulting" and would result in retaliatory tariffs against the U.S.
