Hilliard City Schools Superintendent John Marschhausen's contract was extended by the school board June 11.
His current contract, which was effective Aug. 1, 2016, was supposed to last through July 2021, but the board replaced it with a new deal that runs from Aug. 1 through July 31, 2023.
The new contract maintains the annual 2 percent raise every Aug. 1, but he gets some new perks.
A 10 percent annuity will increase to 13 percent of his base salary. And every year, as long as the board rates his performance as “satisfactory,” he will receive a “retention incentive” equal to 1 percent of his salary and annuity for each year of service, paid as a lump sum every August. That starts this summer.
