Raymond F. Suchanec, 87, of Brighton Twp., entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 24, 1930, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Sobek) Suchanec. He played semi-pro football for the McKees Rocks Rangers. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was retired from J&L Steel Mill. Raymond served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne. He had the distinction of jumping on a detonated atomic bomb in Yucca Flats, Nevada. He enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the family summer home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., and winter months in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Dolores Miller Suchanec; four children, Gary (Coleen) Suchanec, David Suchanec and Suzanne, Karen (Scott) Hopkins, and Debi McCreary; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan (Kris) Suchanec, Kelly (Manuel) Mastoris, Brent (Jackie) Fisher, Aimee Robinson, Lorie (Joe) Chesnut, Justin (Olivia) Suchanec, and Patrick (Allie) Suchanec; 13 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Aiden, Antoni, Alex, Bryce, Jaxson, Brennan, Cooper, Bella, Maya, Payton, Hunter, Harlee, and one due in November; a brother, John (Reid) Suchanec; a sister, Rosemarie (John) Grizzard; a sister-in-law, Liz Suchanec, and a son-in-law, Bill Fisher. Along with his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeff Suchanec; a daughter-in-law, Kim Suchanec; two brothers, Steve and Richard Suchanec, and a sister-in-law, Barb Suchanec A memorial visitation will be held in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver, on June 30, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 12 p.m. officiated by Rev.
