My Home Industries Pvt. Ltd. (MHIPL), belonging to the ₹4,000 crore My Home Group, is planning to increase the production capacity of cement by 50%, said a senior official.
“Currently, we produce 10 million tonnes of cement per annum through four units,” said a senior company official.
“We are planning to increase it to 15 million tonnes per annum very soon,” said the official.
According to him, MHIPL might go in for a new plant, acquire an existing one or expand the current one.
The board will meet on June 15 to take a final decision on the proposal.
The manufacturer of ‘Maha’ cement has four manufacturing plants – two in Andhra Pradesh, one each in Telangana and Tamil Nadu respectively. Last year, the company produced six million tonnes of cement against its capacity of 10 million tonnes. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Odisha are the major markets for the company.
Rolling out the high durable and designable Maha HD Cement for the first time in Tamil Nadu, he said it was manufactured using superior quality of clinker with very low levels of detrimental components such as magnesia, sulphur, alkalies and chloride. During 2017, it was rolled out in the eastern region.
