NDP Leader Andrea Horwath speaks to CBC's Metro Morning on Tuesday after her party won 40 seats in the Ontario legislature in the provincial election last Thursday.

The NDP, after nearly doubling its number of seats, will form the official opposition at Queen's Park.

"New Democrats rejected the politics of fear and cynicism, and I could not be more proud that we offered a positive vision," Horwath said in a recent tweet.

On election night, after winning the downtown riding of Hamilton Centre, Horwath pledged to be "position and constructive" in opposition and to represent people who "did not vote for cuts."

"We will not rest," she told a cheering crowd. "We will not stop fighting until we have it."
