SOMERSET - The Friends of Somerset Historic Preservation, in partnership with local sponsor, Stop & Shop, present the second annual weekend event series at the Bluffs in Somerset’s Pierce Beach. Free Family Movie Night at the “Drive In” will be held Friday, June 22. Bring the family to the screening of Disney’s “Moana” at 8 p.m., rain or shine. Bring a blanket and flashlight, sit on the field or set up next to your car and enjoy the show. The concession stand will be open for snacks. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The finale to the second annual weekend event series is the Roaring 20's Gala, held at The Bluffs at Somerset Pierce Beach on Saturday, June 23 from 6 to 10 p.m., rain or shine. Dine and dance under the stars at Somerset’s most scenic venue, atop the historic bluffs that overlook the Taunton River and offer a view all the way to Mount Hope Bay.

Meet Somerset’s Founders

Have you ever wondered what it was like to chat with Somerset's founders? What is their story? Who are the key players in Somerset's formation? You'll have the chance to meet Patience Brayton who was instrumental in the abolition of slavery, along with Jerathmael Bowers who was the founder of Somerset, and more! Meet and mingle with those that formed our town! They will be greeting guests and mingling for the cocktail hour. You'll get to talk to them about their adventures and hear some stories over a drink thanks to a production by Mastermind Adventures and the Somerset Berkley Regional High School Drama Department.

Ticket includes a full buffet meal by La France Hospitality and ice cream by Simcock Farms. Cash bar available.

Buffet dinner to include: Caesar salad, rice pilaf, grilled summer vegetables, pasta Bolognese, grilled cilantro lime chicken with homemade peach salsa, grilled salmon topped with citrus buerre blanc, coffee, tea and ice cream.

Come dressed in your best Roaring 20's, Great Gatsby costume! Win prizes for the best costume. There is no dress code.

Cocktail hour will feature jazz by the students of Charlene Monte.

For dancing, music provided by Mark Johnson's DJ Services, music for all ages. Ticket required for entry. 21+ event, no kids please.
