Once again, Future Problem Solvers from Flagler County have won several awards at the annual international competition in Wisconsin.

Flagler County students continued their tradition of success on the world stage over the weekend at the 2018 Future Problem Solving Program International Conference competition at the University of Wisconsin — La Crosse.

Eighty-two county students from five local schools participated. Competitors came from nine countries and 22 states.

Future Problem Solving is an academic program that provides the tools and strategies students need to face today’s challenges and those of tomorrow.

Community Problem Solving is a component of the Future Problem Solving program. Participating students identify needs in their schools or communities and then seek out and implement solutions.

School Board member Andy Dance praised the students and their coaches and recognized volunteers, parents and members of the community who supported the students financially.

“This trip provides our students a life-changing experience to compete at an international level and to meet and work with peers from across the United States and the world,” he wrote in a press release naming the winners.
