If you’re looking for a job, summer is no time to take a vacation from your employment search.

With that philosophy in mind, area job seekers might want to mark their calendars for the two-day job fair sponsored by Ohio Means Jobs Lake County on June 26 and 28.

The event takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. both days at the Lake County Job and Family Services office at 177 Main St. in Painesville.

Each day of the job fair will focus on different employment categories.

On June 26, manufacturers will be on hand to meet with job fair visitors. The June 28 session will feature various employers outside of the manufacturing sector, ranging from hospitality to restaurants to health care.

“Our conference room is only so big, so we can only have so many people come through at one time,” said Traci Flores, business services consultant for Ohio Means Jobs Lake County.

Besides the limited space, an overcrowded conference room also could make it too noisy for participants.

“So we decided to break up the job fair into two days: one day with manufacturers, and the other day with other types of businesses,” she said.

These manufacturers are participating in the June 26 session of the job fair, according to a news release:

• Avery Dennison

• Component Repair Technologies

• Conn-Selmer Inc.

• Mar-Bal Inc.

• Mid-West Materials Inc.

• ORBIS Corp.

• Pentair

• Polychem Corp.

• STERIS Corp.

• U.S. Endoscopy

• Vector Technical (which will offer information on Lubrizol Corp. opportunities)

On June 28, these nonmanufacturing businesses will be on hand to speak with prospective employment applicants:

• Airgas Store

• Brighter Horizons

• Bruegger’s Bagels

• HLM Property Management

• Home Instead Senior Care

• Janitorial Services Incorporated

• Olive Garden

• Speedway LLC

• State Courier Systems Inc.

•Stonehill Hotels of Eastlake

• University Hospitals

People who come to the job fair seeking employment are advised to dress professionally, and bring resumes and lists of professional references, the news release stated. Children are not permitted at the event.

Prospective job applicants who cannot attend the event are encouraged to email their resumes in Word format to Kristen.Balash@jfs.ohio.gov.
